I lurve this airline!

Kidd Kraddick started the Kidd’s Kids charity in 1991.

Each year, Kidd's Kids offers five amazing days of suspended reality to children whose lives have been ravaged by chronic or terminal diseases. No hospital visits, no shots, no uncomfortable stares from strangers. Five straight days of sheer joy and excitement at "the most magical place on earth," Walt Disney World. Kidd's Kids children and their families are given the chance to experience the exuberance of being "normal." The trips are 100% funded by money donated by listeners of his radio show. Today they announced that Southwest Airlines has collaborated with Kidd’s Kids, they will pay for the chartered plane, the fuel (and I complain about how much it costs to fill up my suv, can you imagine the fuel cost for an entire plane?), the staff at the airport and on the plane coming and going to Disney World. In the past, the trips have been open to people all over the USA, but the one stipulation is that you have to pay your own way to Dallas Love Field airport, because that is where the chartered plane leaves from. Now, Southwest is going to pay for any travel expenses that families may incur getting to Dallas.

I’ll be the first one to make fun of the sometimes silly flight attendants, goofy jokes, stuffy planes, useless layovers etc. that you have to deal with when you fly Southwest. But what a testament of how a company should be run. In the day and age of all other airlines in dyer straights financially (a lot in bankruptcy), it goes to show that what goes around comes around! You give a little and you get a lot.

Way to go Herb Kelleher, you’ve built one heck of a company!
