If you know me at all, you know I don't do many things "traditional" even spaghetti!
Onion Paloozza, 1 white sliced, half yellow chopped & scallions marinating in evoo, s&p, garlic, red wine vinegar & some low cal bottled italian dressing
Brown 1 pound ground turkey and half pound of sausageDon't forget to season: salt & pepper and crushed red pepper flakes
While the meat is browning, saute onion mixtureAdd chopped button mushrooms to sauteed onion mixture
Boil 1 pound of pasta noodles (your favorite variety)
Once pasta is ready, reserve 1 cup of the starchy cooking liquid to help bind the sauce
Add the onion mixture to the browned ground meat and add a can of crushed tomatoes
Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the meat, tomato & onion mixture and add the cooking liquid to help thicken. I also add italian seasoning at this point. Let it combine and simmer for 30-45 mins. It will make enough to feed a small army.
