Grilling VRS Bar-B-Q'ing

I think it's interesting the difference in the way people use the term "bar-b-q" versus "grilling". When I think of bbq'ing I think of rubs and brisket with lots of hot & sweet sauce. Thick white bread, raw red onions, pickles and lots of wet-nap napkins. And when I think of cooking things on the grill I say "grilling" But I've noticed that a lot of people use the word "GRILLING" and BAR-B-Q'ing" interchangeably. So the question is when you use the grill to cook things what do you say you are doing?
